In motorcycles-does anyone have a “water buffalo” or a “kettle?

I just got mine running again after 30 years apart and I need to know how to tell if the charging system is working?

    ah the old susuki water buffalo, you just need a meter hooked up to your battery start the bike it should read 13.5 to 14 volts if it only sais 12 its not charging
